Powdery mildew of strawberries is a fungal disease caused by Podosphaera aphanis. It affects various parts of the strawberry plant, including leaves, flowers, and fruit, leading to reduced yield and quality. The symptoms include white, powdery fungal growth on the surfaces of leaves, usually starting on the undersides and spreading to the upper surfaces. Infected leaves may become distorted, turn yellow, and eventually die. Infected fruit may develop sunken lesions and become unmarketable.
